Northland company Calitec Hot Water Systems is excited to announce that they have recently become a member of the Green Building Council in New Zealand (NZGBC).
NZGBC is the country’s leading sustainable building organisation and has now over 500 members. All committed to creating a sustainable built environment in New Zealand and promoting efficient technology to reduce the environmental impact.
Peter Ras, Director of Calitec Hot Water Systems, said: “In our company we are committed to a better future for New Zealand, by developing and bringing in new products and systems using heat pump technology with lower impact on the environment, still delivering many cost saving benefits for our customers and to the wider community.”
“The global movement of green building fits perfectly within Calitec’s company vision of providing energy efficient, high quality, long lasting systems using heat pump technology,” Peter Ras said.
“Green buildings make more efficient use of resources such as energy and water, and provide healthier environments for people to live and work in. Green building practices can also reduce construction and operation costs. We are very excited to be joining the New Zealand Green Building Council.”
“Some of the country’s biggest and most well-known names have signed up to join the Green Building Council as well. ANZ, Bunnings, the Ministry of Education, and many small, innovative businesses like ourselves.
Peter Ras hopes that the government will take advice from some of the most influential companies in the New Zealand property and construction sector, and make the quality of the nation’s homes, workplaces and other buildings a key priority.
“It would be great for our economy if the government follows the lead of some of the country’s influential businesses and organisations like NZGBC, and does all it can to improve the efficiency and quality of our homes, workplaces, and other buildings.”
In 2017, the company Calitec Hot Water Systems started in Northland, introducing a split system water heating system working on heat pump technology. Currently the company is growing and is developing nationwide a network of installers.
“The decision to become a member of the NZGBC gives us the opportunity to put our systems in front of decision makers in a way that gives them confidence that heat pump water heating can be an alternative for them while also making them aware of the environmental benefits that the systems brings” says Peter Ras.
